Regarding galleries... we need to think outside of the box; restaurants, coffee shops, clubs, clothing stores, comic book stores, book stores, record stores, etc. Suppose you are a wedding photographer for example, how about approaching a local Bridal Shop. Many businesses love to hang artwork on their walls, and rarely take a commission. (If they do, it is a lot less than a photo gallery)
Check out this enterprising artist (Andreas Franke) who created an underwater gallery to showcase their work. The underwater gallery is located off of the coast of Key West, Florida.
